Mould Best Practices Guideline

The Alberta Government recently released an important document that describes the principles to be followed when selecting the most appropriate techniques for managing mould and mould-contaminated materials. The document also presents basic information on mould, health hazards, requirements for worker protection, safe work procedures, inspection criteria and applicable legislation. WorldSkills Competition

BUILD 2009 Activities

BUILD 2009 is many great events all rolled into one fabulous conference. Jobsite Safety and Liability Go Hand-in-Hand

Safety on the jobsite and liability go hand-in-hand. A Calgary judge recently ruled on a case involving a 2002 condo fire. In a Calgary Herald article from August 31, Kim Guttormson reported "The city was not negligent with respect to a massive 2002 condo fire that put 300 people out of their homes....Court of Queen's Bench Justice Bruce McDonald, in a civil decision released Friday, did find the negligence of a man using a propane torch to waterproof the building caused the fire and that he, his employer, the company that hired them and the developer are liable."
