Reminder of Gov't Survey Deadlines

CHBA - Alberta members are reminded to go online to complete the Alberta Government’s “Energy Efficiency in the Code” survey as well as their “Safety Code Act” survey before the November 29th deadlines.

 

New Requirements for Finger-Joint Lumber

The National Research Council has recently announced that, subject to final approval by the Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes, there will be new information added to the Tables on fire resistant assemblies in Appendix A of the National Building Code relating to the marking requirements for finger-joined lumber in fire-resistant assemblies. These markings may have already begun to appear on lumber products in fire-resistant assemblies and safety codes officers are advised to only accept finger-joined lumber in fire-resistant assemblies that bear the new marks. OHS Charges & Prosecutions Online

Albertans now have better access to information about current charges and prosecutions as they relate to Employment Standards and Occupational Health and Safety compliance. The website offers the latest information on individuals or companies that have been charged under the Employment Standards Code or Occupational Health and Safety Act.

 

STANDATA on Private Sewage Disposal

The Alberta Government has recently issued a new STANDATA pertaining to the Private Sewage Systems Standard of Practice which can be downloaded by clicking here.
