The Canadian Government, the Alberta Government and Alberta municipal governments have created policy frameworks that outline the paths they will take to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This section provides links and summaries to these documents and the CHBA provincial and national responses to these.
In December of 2016, the Canadian Government published their plan on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and building climate resilience while growing the economy. The framework is based on the pillars of carbon pricing, complimentary energy efficiency, climate mitigation, and accelerating innovation.
This report delivered by the Alberta climate Leadership Panel, provides the integrated framework that the Alberta Government is following related to policies, legislation and initiatives to accelerate carbon emissions reductions in the short term.
