2009 Alberta Awards of Excellence in Housing Finalists
Results from the judging of the 2009 Alberta Awards of Excellence in Housing presented by RBC Royal Bank are in and Christenson Developments is leading the competition with 4 finalists. Christenson Developments is followed by tight competition from Ashton Custom Homes, Creations by Shane Homes and Streetside Development Corporation each with 3 finalists. The Calgary region leads the competition with 26 finalists, Edmonton region has 14 and Red Deer and Lethbridge each have 3. For a complete list of finalists, click here. |

Theme Night Revealed
Although summer is finally upon us, BUILD 09 is right around the corner. With a few months left to prepare we are pleased to announce that this year’s Theme Night will pay homage to the much anticipated games in Vancouver. A Celebration of Canadian Winter Sport will encompass the spirit of our athletes and the multitude of activities that we Canadians indulge upon to pass the long snowy months. (I know… too soon… too soon!). So don’t pack your toques, snow boards, skates and Lycra downhill race suits too tightly in the garage as you’ll need them to construct your costumes in September.

What a Deal - BUILD Early Bird Rates & Draw
The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge (JPL) and CHBA – Alberta are offering delegates an early bird rate on hotel accommodations booked prior to June 1, 2009. Rates for a Fairmont room start at $295 per night (plus applicable taxes, resort fee, etc). The relationship developed over the years between CHBA - Alberta and the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge has proved to be one that works for everyone.
Those who register online and book their accommodations with the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge before June 1 will be entered to win a free conference registration and three nights’ accommodations in a deluxe room with sitting area for September 17-19, 2009. The early bird draw is valued at over $1,700! One runner up prize will be awarded of a free round of golf at the CHBA – Alberta Open September 18 or 19, 2009 valued at $219.
Delegates already registered will automatically be entered for the early bird prize. Conference registration cannot be applied to pre-negotiated sponsorship agreements or trade show participants.
