Record Number of Entries Make for Tight Competition
2011 Alberta Awards of Excellence in Housing Finalists Announced

 

EDMONTON, AB – The Canadian Home Builders’ Association – Alberta (CHBA – Alberta) is pleased to announce the finalists of the 2011 Alberta Awards of Excellence in Housing.  Jayman MasterBUILT of Calgary and White Eagle Homes of Edmonton are leading the competition with 4 finalists each.  These builders are followed closely by Shane Homes/Creations by Shane and Rohit Communities each with 3 finalists.  This year, the Calgary region leads the competition with 22 finalists, close behind is the Edmonton region with 21 finalists, Lethbridge has seven finalists and Central Alberta has one finalist.

 

CHBA – Alberta had record-breaking 283 entries this year from builders and renovators across the province.  The submissions have since been narrowed down to a select group.  The Alberta Awards of Excellence in Housing, presented by RBC Royal Bank, honour the top builders and renovators from across the province during a special ceremony September 16 in Jasper.  Winners of each category will be rewarded and one builder will be recognized as the winner of the prestigious Ralph Scurfield Builder of the Year.

 

“CHBA – Alberta was thrilled to see such an overwhelming number of entries this year.  We’ve shattered records which indicate there are many innovative and creative design options available to consumers.  The competition has never been so tight.  We applaud everyone for their hard work entering this year’s contest and we are excited to recognize this year’s finalists. We look forward to celebrating their achievements in Jasper this September when the winners are revealed,” said CHBA – Alberta Chief Executive Officer Jim Rivait.  The annual awards will be announced at The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, as part of BUILD 2011 CHBA – Alberta Conference September 16.

 

In addition, CHBA – Alberta is pleased to acknowledge the Residential Construction Industry's Safety Leadership Award finalists. Once again, the Safety Leadership Awards are sponsored by ATCO Gas as part of their corporate commitment to safety through partnering with key industry safety initiatives and communicating important safety messages.  This year’s finalists are: A&B Concrete Pumping, Broadview Homes, Cameron Homes, Fox Renovations, Keystone Excavating, Morrison Homes, Northern Fireplace, Pacesetter Homes, Pals Geomatics, and Qualico Communities.   Winners will be announced at the Industry Leader Awards Breakfast September 17 in Jasper.
