Mandate & Objectives
The role of the committee is to identify, investigate and resolve technical construction issues affecting the residential construction industry in Alberta.
Matrix:
The Alberta Housing Industry Technical Committee (AHITC) is designed to align with the national and provincial chapters of the home builders’ associations as well as with strategic partners in the housing industry. The committee is coordinated by the Canadian Home Builders’ Association – Alberta (CHBA - Alberta) and a volunteer Chair Person. The matrix is composed of a representative from each of the following organizations:•The local Home Builders’ Associations in Alberta
•The CHBA - Alberta
•The CHBA - Alberta representative to the provincial governments Building Technical Council (BTC)
•The Alberta New Home Warranty Program (ANHWP) representative to BTC
•The CHBA - Alberta representative to the Canadian Home Builders’ Association -National Technical Research Committee (TRC)
•The ANHWP, National Home Warranty Program or Progressive Warranty Program
•Alberta Municipal Affairs, Safety Services
•The municipalities of Edmonton and Calgary
•The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation
•The Alberta Building Officials Association
•The Safety Codes Council

Membership
Member of the local associations and members on the connecting committees are chosen in consultation with the locals. Partners select their own representatives.
