Do you want to win? You can’t win if you don’t enter the competition this year. Show the judges your best houses and how they sparkle and shine when you compete against the province’s best. Being a finalist or winner of the Alberta Awards of Excellence in Housing is something to celebrate. It can be a great marketing tool that can set you apart from today’s competition.
Each year builders and renovators strive to ignite the industry with new and innovative designs. It is your flair, originality and commitment to the industry that makes a house into a home for many Albertans. As a builder, you have a great sense of pride and accomplishment with every home you build. This is your chance to be honoured for your dedication to excellency at the Alberta Awards of Excellence in Housing and celebrate it at this fall event.
Finalists and winners receive outstanding coverage in numerous print publications including the New Home Guide, New Condo Guide, Home Décor and Renovations, Calgary Herald, Edmonton Journal, Calgary Sun, Edmonton Sun and New Home Living.
This year there are a few changes to note. Be sure to review the information and submit up to three entries per category. Online submissions will be accepted until June 1, 2012. This is your chance to sparkle and shine. Enter your submission online between April 27 and June 1.
What are the Alberta Awards of Excellence in Housing?
Awards will be distributed to the winners of each category and one builder will be recognized as the winner of the prestigious Ralph Scurfield Builder of the Year award.
Where Will Finalists and Winners be Announced?
Finalists will be announced on CHBA - Alberta's website and in a news release to media July 25, 2012. Winners will be announced September 21 at the Alberta Awards of Excellence in Housing ceremony as part of BUILD 2012 in Jasper.Submission Information
Important Info
- NEW - Members can submit up to 3 entries per category.
- Submissions will be accepted beginning Wednesday, April 25.
- Step-by-step Instructions are available.
- Photos are uploaded online and provided on a CD/Memory Stick.
- Floor plans must be submitted on the CD/Memory Stick not online.
- A copy of the marketing comments, floor plan to be included on a CD/Memory Stick with the identical images are all that need to be submitted to the CHBA - Alberta office prior to the deadline.
- Price of submission is to be based on current market price (excluding GST and land).
- Any builder entering more than one submission must include a signed customer survey contact form to be eligible for the Ralph Scurfield Builder of the Year award. This form can be included on the CD/Memory Stick.
- All entries are judged online.
